Today the Repower Initiative releases “Financing the Clean Repowering of Coal Power”, a Whitepaper, which introduces the concept of Repowering to the finance community.

In this whitepaper, we seek to raise awareness of several tangible alternatives to decarbonising coal power by exploring the repurposing or ‘repowering’ of coal fired power plants (CFPPs) and replacing it with a clean source of energy.

With philanthropic support from HSBC, the Repower Initiative is also expanding its efforts to explore the feasibility of repowering in Asia where there is a much younger coal fired power plant fleet, including identifying potential sites for conversion.
