Repower was started when we asked ourselves two questions:

Can we decarbonize coal plants while avoiding stranded investments and firing the local workforce?

Can coal plants continue fulfilling their full role without burning fossil fuels?

We now know the answers to these questions: YES and YES.

What remains unanswered—and the main focus of our Initiative—is figuring out the How? Where? When? and many other questions. To answer them, we are gathering a multidisciplinary network of engineers, academics, technology developers, policymakers, investors, and bankers to ensure we have all the necessary pieces to solve this challenge. It is also a huge opportunity! We have held Summits in Indonesia, China, and now in South Korea.

Next year, it’s Poland’s turn, where it all started for us at Repower together with our partners at DEsire.
